The House

La Roseraie is an authentic 1850s French farmhouse full of original features and beautiful antique furniture but with all the comforts of modern-day living. The large bedrooms, games room, terrace and relaxation areas provide space and tranquillity for all.

The downstairs dining room and salon provides an area to make a drink or snack (guests are welcome to use the fridge, microwave and other kitchen facilities), to check e-mails or simply to relax. The games room on the mezzanine floor has sofa and chairs, a TV/DVD player, a billiard table, 'babyfoot' table, darts board, dolls house and numerous games and toys.

A very large covered patio with an amazing old built-in bread oven provides an 'al fresco' dining area for hot summer evenings. Loungers, hammocks, chairs and tables are provided in various shaded and suntrap areas in the gardens, around the swimming pool and beneath the chestnut trees.

Swimming Pool

A 10m x 5m ‘Desjoyeaux' swimming pool provides endless hours of summer pleasure. Roman steps for children to safely access the pool. Safety rules must be observed at all times.

The Gardens

The house is set in two and a half acres of mature gardens with a variety of trees, an orchard, rose and herb gardens and with flowers in abundance. Lawn areas provide delightful areas of relaxation . Three old barns add to the character of the grounds. Fences, hedges and trees secure the boundaries with views of open farmlands and the quiet hamlet of Chez Sicault.

Petting Zoo

As well as our 2 friendly cats, Simba and Kayleigh, one of the barns and its adjoining fields are home to our friendly sheep, lambs and dwarf goats that enjoy being hand-fed by children and adults alike. We also have free-range hens and cockerels, rabbits and guinea pigs. Children are welcome to help us feed the animals, collect the eggs each morning or simply stroke and pet them.
